Feels like a long time coming, sorry about that. but here's a brand spanking new page from Tommy the Demon Boy.
Read the rest of the story right here!
Is your Surface Pro pen not working after a Window update? This solution has works for me.
My writing partner, and good pal PB DeBerry has a great idea for a story. It sounds like kind of a shitty story, but that's a good thing. Hopefully something will come of it soon. Hopefully I'll be able to draw it.
Here's some concept art. The B&W stuff done in Photoshop, the colored drawing done in Clip Studio Paint.
18 hours, one pizza, a few bathroom breaks, a stiff neck and one sore hand. That's what it takes to finish a comic book in less than twenty four hours. This was probably the most fun I've ever had drawing a comic. The day was a blur. I didn't step foot outside once. And I drew it in my basement, so I was deprived of sunlight all day.
Read the whole thing here, or go here and buy yourself a copy (or get it for free, it's pay-whatever-you-want) and get the comic, ever penciled page, a section where I give commentary on each of the twenty four pages.
Not only is this page my favorite page by David Mazzucchelli, I think it's my favorite comic book storytelling page. My number one favorite page of comic art. Everything about this page works perfect. If I was a storytelling teacher, I'd teach an entire class on this page alone.
I think I heard about Rubber Blanket when #2 was out, and got #1 and #2 together. I opened it up and saw this page and was amazed. First the art was great, then that first tier. It's 2017, so this has been my favorite comic page for twenty five years.
I sent Mazzucchelli a letter asking if I could buy this page. He gave a nice typed reply and signed it.
It's almost here! 24-Hour Comics Day! My first one, and I'm pumped up for it. Got my heroes and villains all set up. Got the story in my head. Got a lot of profanity and stupidity and violence and explosions at the ready.
Going to be a good one.
Here's a practice page I did this morning, starring Remarkable Duck and Paul Brian, the heroes of my 24-Hour Comics Day offering. Come back Saturday, I'll be posting all day.
Come back here on 24-hour Comics Day to learn of the impending doom that will be unleashed when A*NUS comes to Earth!
In the meantime, you can go to the Merch page and get a fine A*NUS t-shirt!
The store is sort of open. I have a t-shirt section with no shirts. That's going to change soon. This is my first website in a while. This'll be the place to go for comics and new and information, and the new home of the famous Comic Book Art Templates.*
*They're still sold through Payhip - unless stated otherwise, all of the digital content here is sold through Payhip - but this new storefront.
